We were blessed with a surprise snow overnight, and what a lovely sight first thing this morning!

The best kind of snow, in my mind, beautiful, only a couple of inches, and it's

too warm to stick to the streets (for the most part), and melted away by noon.
This is a garden ornament in my yard, topped off with a little snow.

Lake Bailey is a small lake located on Petit Jean Mountain, in the State Park. This past weekend was good for fishing and geese were all over the lake. A lovely place to fish or just sit and enjoy nature, especially this time of year, when the weather is much cooler and the colors are starting to show.

What I saw at Morris Antiques in Keo, Arkansas....

This was on a massive piece of antique furniture. I didn't take a photo of the furniture, not sure why, the place was full of extremely large pieces: shelves, fireplaces, tables. Very impressive and very expensive.

An old hearst wagon... a little freaky in person.

Beautiful old car (sorry, I have no idea the make/model). It is actually black though it looks plum in this photo.

An odd thing to have in an antique shop, I thought. And it hung in the warehouse full of beds. ~?~

I have walked around the Laman Library grounds many times, but this was the first time I noticed this marker. It is in one corner under a tree. Seems an old cemetery was once located at this site. I wonder if the graves were actually moved, and to where?

I didn't know the couple getting married. The wedding was set up on the beach behind our condo. A lot of the condo folks stood on their balconies and watched and cheered. It was a lovely, short and sweet, wedding. Now my daughter, who is 14, thinks she'll have a beach wedding some day.

Just creepy. I was sitting on the edge of a rock wall along the lake, when I look down and see these shells of bugs (I don't know what they were) all over the place. I snapped a photo and got up! Icky!

My son plays baseball, so we spend a lot of time at games and getting to and from practices, as he isn't driving, yet. Soon! It really is too hot for baseball, if my opinion counts for anything. I know, it doesn't.

One evening, while out and about, this sunset made me pull to the side of the road and snap a quick shot before I caused a traffic problem.

Hope you all are enjoying the summer so far. I am! I need to get out more and get more photos to share here, but it seems life is getting in the way.

I occasionally have lunch at one of the neighborhood lakes and these geese always come out to greet you. Well, it's more of a fussing then a greeting. They check out what you're doing and if you might want to feed them, which most folks do. I think they'd just as soon bite you in the seat as anything. I stay in the car.

A very old cedar tree uprooted by a recent tornado in Vilonia, Arkansas. The other old cedar is holding it up, for now. In this area was great damage to many more trees and homes, very devastating.

We have had so much rain lately, as this shows... floods are happening everywhere. This is the entrance to the Arkansas Queen riverboat.
